ALEX Labs just completed research and analysis of Biz Journal’s Report that included Williamson County migration.
Many Texans including realtors believe most new residents are coming from out-of-state and most of those are fleeing from San Francisco. Key findings about new residents in Williamson County: 56% are from Travis County (Austin), 15% are from out-of-state, 9.8% are from California with 4.2% coming from the Bay Area and 5.6% coming from Southern California.

Biz Journal’s Report was based on an analysis of tax returns. By County, it identified “…in-migration…patterns by county…” for the 2020 and 2021 tax years.
“…(The) data includes the top sources (counties) of in-migration and out-migration for each county (as long as the migration involved at least 20 filers)…”
