Rice University’s Dr. Veerabhadran Baladandayuthapani, a statistics expert, won a $1 million award from the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT). His team will use AI and big data to help doctors better understand and treat prostate cancer. This research could lead to more precise and faster treatments that are tailored to each patient. Dr. Bala is part of Rice’s George R. Brown School of Engineering and Department of Statistics. This project brings hope to many and shows how smart tech can help save lives. 🎯💻🧬
